Sinan Vural, baritone
ABOUT
Baritone Sinan Vural, born in Ankara, Turkey, received an academic degree in Computer Science before becoming a singer. Sinan first took voice lessons with Yildiz Tunbul in Ankara, Turkey. He then moved to Holland, where he first studied with Anne Haenen at the Conservatory in Enschede, and subsequently with Cora Canne Meijer at the New Opera Academy within the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He currently works with vocal coach Margreet Honig. 

Sinan's first roles in operas were in Dido and Aeneas (H. Purcell), Così Fan Tutte (W.A. Mozart) and Pimpinone (G.Ph. Telemann). The last few seasons he has performed in "The Beastly Bombing" by Julien Nitzberg and Roger Neill with Opera aan het IJ in Amsterdam and "De Waterman" by Hans Koolmees with Muziektheater Hollands Diep in Dordrecht, Holland. He is one of the frequent singers of Holland Opera in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Recent performances with the group included an open-air production of  "King Arthur" (H.Purcell) and "The Black and the Beautiful" (S.Aziz and F.Merkies) in theaters throughout the Netherlands, both in 2009.

In 2011 he plays in the jazz-opera "Feeks" (J.le Clercq and O.van Geel), an adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew, in collaboration with Zapp String Quartet, in Purcell's "The Tempest", a summer production in the open air, and in "Romeo en Zeliha" (F.Merkies), and adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, all produced by Holland Opera. He is also in the artistic team of, and performs with "Opera per Tutti", a series of concerts with operatic repertory aiming at bringing opera to wider audiences. His repertory further includes many oratorio works such as St. Matthew's Passion and St. John's Passion and numerous cantatas by Bach, Requiems by Mozart, Fauré, Duruflé, Brahms, as well as more contemporary works like "La Danse des Morts" by Honegger.  He frequently gives song recitals, with a particular preference for French works, and has a long-term collaboration with pianist Nicholas Ross. Shortly their CD "Arthur Honegger: Mélodies et Chansons" in cooperation with soprano Claudia Patacca will be issued.
